Sales in the contact profile
Overview
You don't need to leave the conversation to sell. The contact profile's Sales panel shows you their orders and quotes, and the drawers inside the chat let you create and manage documents without losing the thread of the conversation. It's the fastest way to quote or record an order while you talk to the customer.
How to Access
- Open a contact's profile (from the Inbox or from Contacts).
- Expand the contact's Sales panel.
- The drawers open from the buttons and rows of that panel.
Interface Overview
The Sales panel has two tabs:
- Orders — the contact's orders, with their status, the Paid amount, what's Receivable, and the shipment progress.
- Quotes — the contact's quotes, with their status and their validity ("expires in N days" / "expired").
At the top of each tab there are quick figures — the Purchased amount, what's Receivable, what's At stake, and what's Expiring — and at the bottom, links to see everything in the Sales workspace.
Features & Actions
View the contact's documents
What it does: Lists the contact's recent orders and quotes.
Steps:
- In the profile, open the Sales panel.
- Switch between Orders and Quotes.
- Use Show N more to load more rows.
- To go to the full list filtered by this customer, use View the N in Sales.
Create an order or a quote from the chat
What it does: Opens a create drawer with the customer already fixed to the contact.
Steps:
- In the panel, click New order or New quote.
- A drawer opens with the create form; the customer is locked to this contact (no need to search for them).
- Enter the lines and save. You'll see a notice ("Order #N created" / "Quote COT-N created") with a View detail link.
Manage a document from the chat
What it does: Opens the detail of an order or quote in a drawer, without switching pages.
Steps:
- In the panel, click an order or quote row.
- The drawer shows the detail. From there you can edit, and on a quote convert to order — all within the same drawer.
- When you close the drawer, the panel updates to reflect the changes.
Important notes: All navigation happens inside the drawer: editing, going back to the detail, and converting swap the view in the same place, without taking you out of the conversation.
FAQ
Q: Can I change the customer on an order created from the chat? A: Not from the drawer — the customer stays fixed to the conversation's contact. Create the document from the Sales workspace if you need another customer.
Q: Are documents created from the chat different from those in the Sales workspace? A: No, they're the same orders and quotes; only where you create and manage them changes.
Q: I closed the drawer and don't see the change. A: The panel refreshes when you close the drawer or reopen it. If it doesn't appear, reopen it.
