Channel Setup

Overview

The Channel Setup is the second step of the setup wizard. It allows you to configure your first messaging channel (such as WhatsApp). This step reuses the same channel configuration component found in the main Settings area, but presented in a simplified onboarding context. Messaging channels are how Aurora Inbox sends and receives messages from your customers.

How to Access

  • This is Step 2 of the Setup Wizard
  • Accessible during the initial onboarding flow after completing the Knowledge Base step

Interface Overview

The page contains:

  • A title and description explaining the purpose of channel setup
  • The Channels configuration (the same one used in Settings > Company, in onboarding mode)
  • Back and Next navigation buttons at the bottom

Features & Actions

Configure a Messaging Channel

What it does: Sets up a WhatsApp or other messaging channel so Aurora Inbox can communicate with your customers.

Steps:

  1. Follow the channel configuration instructions displayed on the page
  2. Connect your WhatsApp Business Account or other supported channel
  3. Click Next to proceed to the AI Agent setup step

Important notes:

  • The channel setup is displayed in "onboarding mode," which may simplify the interface compared to the full Settings experience
  • You can configure additional channels later from Settings > Company
  • At least one channel is recommended for Aurora Inbox to function, but this step can be advanced without completing the configuration

Go Back to Knowledge Base Step

What it does: Returns to the previous step (Knowledge Base Setup).

Steps:

  1. Click the Back button
  2. You are returned to Step 1 (Knowledge Base Setup)

FAQ

Q: Do I have to set up a channel right now? A: It is recommended but not required. You can click Next to skip and configure channels later from Settings.

Q: What types of channels can I configure? A: Aurora Inbox supports WhatsApp Business API, WhatsApp Cloud API, Facebook Messenger, TikTok, and more. The available options depend on your subscription plan.

Q: Can I add more channels later? A: Yes, you can add and manage channels at any time from the Settings > Company page.
