Templates

Overview

Templates are pre-written message responses that can be used across your platform — in workflows, broadcasts, and by AI agents. Each template consists of a name, a message body, and an optional media attachment (image, video, or file). Templates save time by allowing you to reuse common messages without retyping them.

How to Access

  • Navigate to Tools > Templates
  • Required role: Admin

Interface Overview

The Templates page displays:

  • A header with the page title and an + Add New button
  • A list of template cards, each showing the template name
  • Each card has a dropdown menu with Edit and Delete options

Features & Actions

Create a New Template

What it does: Creates a new message template and opens the editor to configure its content.

Steps:

  1. Click the + Add New button
  2. Enter a Name for the template
  3. Click Submit
  4. You will be redirected to the template editor to add the message and media

Important notes:

  • The template name is required and cannot be empty
  • After creation, configure the message body and optionally attach media

View and Edit a Template

What it does: Opens the template editor where you can modify the message text, media, and other settings.

Steps:

  1. Click on the template name or card
  2. Alternatively, click the menu icon (three dots) and select Edit
  3. You will be taken to the template detail page with the editor

Delete a Template

What it does: Permanently removes a template.

Steps:

  1. Click the menu icon (three dots) on the template card
  2. Select Delete
  3. Confirm the deletion by clicking Delete

Important notes:

  • This action cannot be undone
  • If the template is used in a workflow or broadcast, those references will no longer work

Important Notes

  • Templates are shared across the organization; all admins can view and edit them
  • Templates can be referenced in workflow steps (Template Message step) and broadcast content
  • Deleting a template does not automatically remove references to it in workflows or broadcasts

Q: Where can I use templates? A: Templates can be used in Workflow steps (Template Message), Broadcast campaigns, and by AI agents (via WhatsApp Templates tool configuration).

Q: Can I duplicate a template? A: There is no direct copy feature. Create a new template and manually copy the content from an existing one.

Q: Is there a limit to how many templates I can create? A: There is no hard limit on the number of templates.
