Change Email

Overview

The Change Email screen allows you to update the email address associated with your account. A verification link is sent to the new email address to confirm ownership before the change takes effect.

How to Access

  • Navigate to Settings > Profile
  • Click the Email tab

Interface Overview

The Email tab contains:

  • A single email input field
  • A Change button to submit the request
  • An informational banner that appears after submitting, confirming that a verification email was sent

Features & Actions

Request Email Change

What it does: Initiates an email change by sending a verification link to the new email address. The change is not applied until you click the verification link.

Steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Profile > Email tab
  2. Enter the new email address in the Email field
  3. Click Change
  4. A confirmation message appears: the system has sent a verification email to the new address
  5. Open the verification email and click the confirmation link
  6. You are redirected back to the Profile page with a success message

Important notes:

  • The email field is validated for proper email format
  • The email field is required
  • The change does not take effect until you click the verification link in the confirmation email
  • After confirming, the page reloads and displays a success banner

FAQ

Q: What happens if I don't click the verification link? A: Your email address remains unchanged. You can request a new change at any time.

Q: Can I use an email address that is already associated with another account? A: No. Each email address must be unique across the platform. If the email is already in use, the server will return an error.

Q: How long is the verification link valid? A: The link uses a time-limited token. If it expires, you can request a new email change to receive a fresh link.
